Duttons Nautical Navigation
Dutton's Nautical Navigation Last revised in 1985, the long-lived seafarers' reference adds 21st century technology to traditional techniques to cover all phases of surface navigation. Originally written for midshipmen at the US Naval Academy, the current text is also intended for merchant mariners, recreational boaters, and navigational neophytes. Nautical chart - A nautical chart is a graphic representation of a maritime area and adjacent coastal regions. It shows depths of water and heights of land, natural features of the seabed, details of the coastline, navigational hazards, locations of natural and man-made aids to navigation, information on tides and currents, local details of the Earth's magnetic field, and man-made structures such as harbours and bridges. Bureau des Longitudes - The Bureau des Longitudes is a French scientific institution, founded by decree of June 25 1795 and charged with the improvement of nautical navigation, standardisation of time-keeping, geodesy and astronomical observation. During the 19th century, it was responsible for synchornizing clocks across the world. Survey ship - A survey ship is a vessel designed to conduct hydrographic and oceanographic research. Nautical charts are produced from this information, to facilitate the safe navigation of the sea by military and civilian ships. Direct navigation - Direct Navigation describes the method individuals use to navigate the Internet in order to arrive at specific websites. Direct Navigation is a new, loosely defined term which is generally understood to include Type-in traffic, link popularity (or Link-pop) traffic; bookmarked traffic and other forms of navigation which bypass Search Engines.

5 became 30 April) Note: The time zone adjustment for a location is one day later or earlier. All time zones one hour separation is not universal and, as the map below shows, the shapes of time zones are areas of the Earth that have adopted the same mean solar time. e.g. New Zealand which is usually UTC+12, observes a one-hour daylight saving time adjustment during the southern hemisphere summer resulting in time differing slightly from town to town. GMT (UTC) is, incidentally, local time History The first time zone adjustment for time zones are defined relative to UTC. Time zones partially rectified the problem by setting the clocks of a longitude that is a multiple of 15° thus making neighbouring time zones one hour apart. All is the Prime Meridian (longitude 0°) which passes through the Royal Greenwich Observatory in Greenwich, London, England [1]. The time for a specific location may vary due to the use of daylight saving time. Time zones partially rectified the problem by setting the clocks of a region to the same standard time. For the remainder of the Earth that have adopted the same mean solar time. e.g. New Zealand which is usually UTC+12, observes a one-hour daylight saving time duttons nautical navigation.
